Model r6080 having trouble connecting

I am able to set up my router through the app up until it’s “checking for wires” then it stops and says my wires are not detected. Brand new router with the brand new cables.

    When you post, include the modem/gateway you're connecting the router to.

    While it might help to post in the section for your router – don't take this suggestion as a brush off  –  most routers are the same, so questions (and answers) for one device apply to others regardless of their model number.

     

    What are you doing when this happens?
