Netgear N600 want to change to 2.4ghz since mQ device won't install if 5ghz present

You don't need to disable 5ghz. 

Just make sure the phone/tablet you're using to install the opener is connected to the 2.4ghz.

    If your router is dual band then both bands should be available and no need to disable the 5ghz to connect to the 2.4ghz.
