Netgear N600 want to change to 2.4ghz since mQ device won't install if 5ghz present

Garage door opener software  -- mQ. adviced by mgf software willl not install over wirless network if 2.5 ghz present.  So what's the easiest way of disabliing the 5ghz mode to install via the 2.4 g...

You don't need to disable 5ghz. 

Just make sure the phone/tablet you're using to install the opener is connected to the 2.4ghz.

If your router is dual band then both bands should be available and no need to disable the 5ghz to connect to the 2.4ghz.
