Netgear Nighthawk r6700v3 wifi speed capped
Hi,
I've seen several other posts re: r6700v3 speed getting capped. Sounds like the best thing is to create a new post if I have the same issue so that Netgear sees that multiple users are experiencing the same problems.
I'm on a xfinity gigbit plan, with Netgear CM1000v2 modem.
When connected directly to modem, I get at least 990 mbps.
Performed factory reset after I got a firmware update error (and unable to retrieve password) of my router (r6700v3), and a firmware update to most current version (V1.0.4.122_10.0.95), now getting 300+ mbps. Still not the 990 mbps I was seeing while directly connected to modem.
Do I need to roll back firmware to another version? Which version will get me closest to 990 mbps?

oh, and by connecting directly, I mean wired.

It is hard to follow what you are measuring here and how.

Is that 300 Mbps when wired to the router?
So far, all your references to "directly" seem to be wired to the modem rather than wired to the router.
Wifi connections will never get anywhere near 990 Mbps.

1. I doubt you got 990mbps. Because of network overhead, most devices hit 940-950mbps. How are you testing the speeds? (what app, device, website, etc)
2. After your reset, make sure not to use a backup configuration during the install. Also, make sure to leave access control, parental controls, traffic monitoring, and qos all disabled.
3. Do you have IPv6 enabled?
4. did you try downgrading the firmware a version or 2?
