Netgear Nighthawk x4s R7800 - periodic crash (white lighst stay on when crashed)
Hi All,
Normally this router has been really stable however over the last week it crashes once a day
Firmware V1.0.2.90 (standard netgear not a 3rd party firmware)
Access Point mode ethernet cable connected to BT router (full fibre)
2G and 5G using smart connect
Symptoms - will lock up with all white lights (except eSata and ethernet ports) will be permanently on (normally internet and wifi lights flash)
Done a factory reset and still same issue after reconfiguring the wifi settings back to what I had setup.
anyone else have the same issue?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What all devices do you have connected to it?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Does the top of the router feel extra warm or hot to the touch when this happens?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Some thoughts:
It is possible your firmware has become corrupted. If you are happy with the firmware, re-flash the same version on top and then do a firmware default reset. Be sure and dismount/remove any USB or eSata devices prior.
There are reports of R7800's that were assembled with memory chips that did not last more than a few programming cycles. Did you buy your router new, how long have you owned your R7800?
Check out for testing purposes the Voxel firmware here: http://www.voxel-firmware.com/Downloads/Voxel/html/r7800.html
Be sure and review the Read Me file at the top. They have an active forum over on Small Net Builders https://www.snbforums.com/forums/netgear-ac-wireless.53/

I reflashed using the same firmware from netgear and that didnt' improve. So I'm now testing the Voxel version. Thanks for recommendations
As to devices - nothing new to what I've had running for several months / years.
