Netgear R6900 nighthawk ac1900 wifi 5ghz channel not working. Can't connect to it. But 2.4GHz is OK.
12/1/2023
Router Firmware Version V1.2.0.92_1.0.1
Windows 10 OS
Yesterday, my netgear R6900 nighthawk ac1900 wifi 5GHz channel stopped working. Nothing can connect to it. But the 2.4GHz is working fine and now is the only channel that can be connected to with no issue. I have tried rebooting, turning off/on(with modem) and restoring the router to the default settings without any success. Moreover, the 5GHz status in Adim Web Browser is OK also (Green Check Mark). Is my router shot or is there another solution I can try?

What tells you that?
You have told several different wifi clients to look for the 5 GHz SSID?
The LED for 5 GHz is on?
You have pressed the wifi on/off button to test that you can turn the wifi on and off?
....and restoring the router to the default settings without any success.Do you mean the factory reset?
How do I perform a factory reset on my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

That's not firmware for the R6900. Try R6900v2.

Netgear R6900v2 nighthawk ac1900 wifi 5ghz band is not working. Cannot connect to it. But 2.4GHz is OK and can be connected to without issue.
All 5ghz wireless devices are now automatically switched to and are connected to the 2.4ghz channel.
None of my wireless devices show the 5ghz band or in case of my FireTV stick it says that "It is out of Range".
Moreover, there is no indication of any issue in the router's Admin software utility or the LED indicator lights. All statuses are normal or look normal.
As mentioned originally, Router Firmware is up to date and I performed a factory reset of the router's configuration settings with no luck.
Has anyone experienced this issue before or have any idea how to fix it?
