Netgear R6900 Readyshare link to Firestick
Hi Everyone,
I'm setting my router R6900 as an Access Point Mode currently. My external drive is connected to the router via the USB port. I have no problem reading my external drive from my ASUS player connecting to READYSHARE. I just bought a Firestick recently. Is it possible for my firestick to play movies I saved on my external drive? I've been searching for 'readyshare' and 'firestick' but no luck.
Thank you so much!!
Michael,
I figured out the problem. I had to allow 'access' to the firestick first through the router setup. After that, I just use SMB to connect.
Thanks again for all your help.

If you are asking if you can plug the Firestick into the router, then answer is no. Readyshare is for storage and printers.

Hi Michael,
Not to plug the firestick to the router. My external drive would remain plugged into the router. However, I'm curious if my firestick could read this external drive?
I have an ipad that has no issue reading this external drive using SMB readyshare.
Thanks
