Apr 23, 2022NetGear R7000 seems to be in a loop when powering up and all lights keep going on and Off
I have a Netgear R7000 AC1900 unit. When powering it up it seems to try to load and start but seems to not load the software as it keeps going through the motions of all lights coming on, then a few lights and then starts all over again. I connected it to a computer via ethernet cable and when I attempt to do an IPconfig it will not even find that as it seems to be not loading the software on the unit.
Is there any way to flash the software via a usb drive to get it working again.
I have attempted to reset the router a few times but that is not doing anything.

when you reset, did you push and hold for up to 30 seconds while powered on?
You can try recovering it with tftp or nmrpflash.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Seems like the firmware has become corrupted. Try unbricking it with the tftp method. Look on youtube "how to debrick a router" follow those steps. You'll have to download the firmware file from the netgear website and also the program tftp2.exe.
