Netgear Router R7000 - Invalid SMTP Address
Hi, This is driving my crazy. I spent several hours googling and trying to figure out why my $219 Netgear router R7000 is not allowing my to enter my ISP smtp address. It keeps telling me "Invali...
- Apr 15, 2016It looks like you need to swap the two lines where you have specified the mail server and the email address to send to.
You have this:
modster@consolidated.net
mail.consolidated.net
It should be this:
mail.consolidated.net
modster@consolidated.net

Hi modster
Welcome to the community!
What's the firmware version installed on your router?
Have you tried doing a factory reset?
I tried making up an email address from consolidated.net and input the outgoing mail server and it did save it.
Can you post a screenshot too?

Elaine,
I have done factory reset on my router but still not able to set up email log. Still getting the invalid SMTP address.
I know that mail.consolidated.net is a valid SMTP address because I am using it all over the place. Plus in my other non-netgear routers.
This is getting frustrating....
I have attached a screen shot per your request.
Please help me.
