Netgear Router
I'm trying to register my Netgear Nighthaw WiFi router so that I can manage and ensure connections are secure and I'm getting a message that indicates the serial number is registered to someone else. Not sure how this is considering I purchased it brand new from Best Buy in July of 2015, and I have the receipt.
Any assistance on how to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

It wouldn't be the first time bestbuy sold a device that had been return.
You can try going through the registration faq as there's a contact email in there to use for helping with these issues.

Register for what?
Very few functions require "registration", which is essentially for support and warranty purposes. Neither of these apply to a six-year old device.
What are you trying to achieve. "manage and ensure connections are secure" could mean various things.
