netgeat vpn network switch question

i have no idea how this works so maybe someone hear can help me figure it out. i have the netgear c7000-100nas modem router now and i have a security system connected thru a  24 port gigabit network switch and then to that c7000 unit. i can see my cameras at home and when away. and they are setup with a different username and passwords than stock plus they all have there own port forwareding.

my question is  how would a netgear fvs318 vpn network switch help me keep my cameras and pc's better secured? or is that type of vpn not worth installing into my network? or if i was to get one like that would i still need to subscribe to some type of vpn service for that unit to actually work?

if they do work for home owners private networks would i connect it up so my network switch i now have goes into that vpn switch and then from the wan port on the vpn switch will then connect up to my modem like i now have it setup? so i just insert the vpn in between the 24 port switch and the modem?

so my cameras go to the large 24 port nw switch and that nw switch then connects to the the modem?  and if so will it actually do any good as a stand alone system?  of is there some type of diagram showing hoe to connect these up.

this model i see netgear no longer updates so it may not be workth getting but if they do work to keep a private system private without havien to pay for a vpn online service it may be worth looking into getting.  thanks bp.

i can go there because they banned me because i did not agree with the moderators, they tried to tell me  the cameras i had were not any good but if i got the cameras they sold then they would help me with the porting issue i was havong, so then they banned me. believe it or not they told me if i went back on there site they would sue me for using there bandwidth. but they cant sue anyonde for being on there site as they are publlic. i had to do some business with a top lawyer in our area and he wanted me to go back and have then open a case against me so he could make tons of money.

      anyway thanks

Sorry to hear that.  More than one person has found themselves crosswise with one or more moderators over at IP Cam Talk.

A next resource would be over at Small Net Builders Forums.  https://www.snbforums.com/ .  Maybe in the LAN & WAN section.

        Good luck.
