Nighthawk AC1200
The setup process is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on anyting.
I can't complete the setup unless I create an account with netgear.
I need to have a working internet connection to SETUP the router! WHY? I'm planning the router, so let me **bleep**ing set it up manually. My god what the **bleep** is wrong with you people. I just remember the last time I dumbed a Netgear product. For this same damn reason. I had forgotten about it. Here we go again, throw this in the garbage, not worth returning.

None of that is a model number, Look for "Model" on the product
label.> I can't complete the setup unless I create an account with netgear.
Says who?
Did you come here for a nice rant, or were you trying to provide
something like a useful problem description? If the latter, then you
failed. The non-psychics in your audience might not be able to guess
what this device might be, what you might be reading, or anything else
which might be helpful.Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read?- michaelkenwardGuru - Experienced User

Seems like you are doing something wrong. There is no need for any account if you are trying to set up a router. (I assume that was what you mean by Nighthawk AC1200.)
Manuals are always a good place to start.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device. AC1200 is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide. And be careful, to do things in the order laid down there.
There may also be some helpful videos on what to do.You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
