Nighthawk AC1750

I have tried downloading neatgear genie, onto windows, and does not work. I do not know what is going on. My wifi will not come up on my desktop computer. Just shows home, and connected. Been working on cables most of the day. I have tried the www.routerlogin.net and it doesn't work. I want my wifi settings to show Netgear or Nighthawk, whichever instead of home. I also have a problem with lan network. Should I just disconnet it? I just can't understand why I can not download the firmwear, genie app and so on. I am not really internet savy, however I usually know parts you are talking about. Wifi routers is not really my thing, but anything is possible.

Sadly, "does not work" could mean many things.

You can download the genie from here:

Be warned that it comes bundled in a RAR file that you need to unpack.

Again, what does that mean? You have a Windows PC and it can see the SSID of the wifi from the R6700?

The SSID, the wifi connection that your PC sees, is set on the router. You can give it whatever name you want.

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the section in the manual Specify Basic WiFi Settings.

    What is that problem?
