Nighthawk ac1900 r6900

Hi,

I've been using this Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wifi Router and I love the Readyshare USB functionality.  Recently Comcast provided me a faster modem/router but it doesn't have the readyshare capabilitites.  I tried bridging the router so that I could use Netgear's Readyshare but my internet speed was noticeably slower.

Would it be possible for me to use Comcast's modem/router and at the same time, use Netgear's Readyshare  functionality ONLY (to allow movie streaming within my home network) without using Netgear's full router capabilities?    In other words, could I just connect the ethernet cable from Comast's modem directly into Netgear's yellow ethernet port and configure it somehow to enable Readyshare?

Please advise.

Thank you so much

R6900[v1] or R6900v2?  Look for "Model" on the product label.
    Firmware version?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for a topic like
"Use the Router as a WiFi Access Point".

Note that when you do that, the R6900[vX] will get a new/different
LAN IP address, which might change the way you access it (specifying its
IP address instead of some "routerlogin" or "readyshare" name).

It would probably be wise to reserve some particular address for the
R6900[vX]-as-WAP on your (unspecified) "Comcast's modem/router", so that
the R6900[vX]-as-WAP always gets the same address.  Check the
documentation on that device for details.  I'd look for terms like
    "DHCP" or "address reservation".

Antinode (Guru) - Thank you so much.  I was able to modify the mode on my Nighthawk from Router to AP (Access Point) through Advance Setup.  Now I'm able to utilize their Readyshare functionalities.  It worked great.  Thank you again for your help!!
