Nighthawk control od router

Trying to get Nighthawk to control router. It will not connect eventhough smartphone does connect. Tried going through settings. They were OK. Any ideas would be most welcome. Thank you.

    1. you have the r7000?

    2. what firmware is on it? 

    3. what modem/gateway is it connected to? 

    4. what actual error do you see when it tries to connect?

    5. are you able to connect through the browser (not the app)?

      Should have Latest firmware as I did a factory reset. I am connected to a local gateway (Valley Electric). The page just refreshes. I am able to connect to the router with the smartphone I am using (Samsung note 10 +) and all the other devices I have

        1. a reset doesn't "ensure the latest firmware". And many times with the r7000, it isn't on the latest. 

        2. what actual gateway is it? telling me the ISP doesn't tell me the gateway

        3. its only the 1 device with issues? All the other devices work fine? that seems to indicate a device issue and not a router issue

      All is good. I have line of sight internet. The antenna attached to roof tiles. A 60 mph wind slightly repositioned the antenna
      Then this week a 100 mph wind blew the antenna down. When the antenna was reattached the line of sight signal was maximized. Then Nighthawk worked just fine. I am now able to control my router with my Mobil phone. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your concern.
