Nighthawk not visible to Solar Edger inverter

I swapped out an old modem supplied by ISP with a new nighthawk C7500 V2.

I just recently noticed that the Solar Edge inverter in the garage hadn't been connected to the WiFi network.

I've tried reconnecting but my Network is not visible after a scan on invertor. All other networks are. I tried WPS connection also which didn't work.

Seperately, the nighthawk seems to have caused an issue with my Bosch alarm. The alarm is connected to a router in the garage which splits my incoming fibre optic connection to 3 ethernet ports in the 3 different rooms in the house. The nighthawk in connected to one of these ports in the kitchen.

Any help would be appreciated?

  • None of your comments are helpful. You sound like a bot and dont understand anything and you dont seem to be making an effort to understand ether. Just plain unhelpful.

I updatds the firmware on the nighthawk and managed to connect the solar inverter to the wifi network - netgear33.

    Problem partially solved.

I had a reconfigure the nighthawk using the genie wizard after updating the firmware on the nighthawk - becuase the firmware update caused a loss of the internet connection into the ethernet lan port 4 on the nighthawk with was showing a red solid light on the top of the nighthawk.

So internet is back up and inverter is connection to the wifi next work.

The problem now is that the house alarm which is connected via ethernet cable to a TPLink switch which is connected by ethernet into the nighthawk and the solar inverter cannot be accessed via mobile apps.

This problem didnt exist before nighthawk so there must be a configuration/secuity setting on nighthawk which control how device on tmy home wifi and wired network "talk" to the internet.

If I solve this I post an update so others can benefit from it.

What was your (unspecified) "an old modem supplied by ISP"?  Has it a
maker and model number?  (Was it a "modem", or a modem+router
("gateway"), or what?)  Who/what is your ISP?

    > [...] but my Network is not visible after a scan on invertor. All
    > other networks are. [...]

Which (wireless?) network is your "my Network"?  Do "All other
    networks" belong to your neighbors?

    > [...] The alarm is connected to a router in the garage which splits my

What, exactly, is your "a router in the garage"?  (Is it really a
    "router"?)

It might be more helpful if you stuck to an accurate, complete
description of your equipment, and what's connected to what, and skipped
the explanation of what it all means ("splits my incoming fibre optic
connection [...]".  (Hint: If a device has different types of Ethernet
ports, then "connected to device" is not enough detail.)

If you have an "incoming fibre optic connection" (from
who/what/where?), then why did you get "a new nighthawk C7500 V2", which
    is a cable(-TV-type) modem+router?

       "connected" how, exactly?

Start with a less confused/confusing description of your network.  If
you really do have multiple routers, then many problems are possible.

Normally, I'd suggest consulting the relevant User Manual -- Visit
http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look for
Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read. -- but I wouldn't expect
that to help much before we establish a better picture of the whole
    mess.

The old router/modem was a sagemcom gateway fast 3846ac.
      ISP is optus Australia.

The network is the wifi network and the others are neighbours.

In the garage there is a powered TP link device which I assume is a router.

The nighthawk lan port is connected via Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port in the wall. That’s is connected via Ethernet to the Powered TP link.

I think your looking for specifics when everything was working perfectly before nighthawk.

It’s must be a nighthawk configuration issue.

Anyway I updated the firmware on the nighthawk and the solar inverter can now see the wifi network ‘NETGEAR33’ and is connected.

However now the nighthawk is not connected to the internet. The lan port 4 light is red and so is the internet light on the nighthawk.

LAN port 4 refer is the Ethernet connection into the TP link device I think is a router.

I’ll try and confirm the model now.

The TP link device was an 8 port switch.

Anyways I reconfigured the modem using the set up wizard on Genie and it appears to have fixed the internet connection issue.

The solar inverter is now connection to the Wifi network "netgear33" but doesnt seem to be communicating its status accross the internet. What i mean by this is that my inverter power mode, status etc is not showing on the mobile app used to see the inverter status in real time.

I think there must be a security setting on the nighthawk which is blocking the inverter and the alarm from broadcasting/sending information in some way.
