Nighthawk R6700v3 and 3700 extender

  1. A few days ago I noted an update to the firmware was available for my Netgear Nighthawk R6700v3 router. Using the Nighthawk app I executed the update and it proceeded successfully. The router came back online. The issue is that now I can no longer log into my Netgear 3700 extender either by the 192.168.1.250 pr the web based interface. Using Safari as my browser the route to 192.168.1.250 results in a server error after it times out. The 3700 extender has been a cranky device but this is a new issue. Any thoughts on how I can rectify? Seems like my Nighthawk is blocking access to 192.168.1.250.
  • try factory resetting the extender and reinstall it.

Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on. then follow the install.

If you check the attached devices page for the router, it should have the IP address for the extender. Maybe it changed.

Thanks much for the hint. I had tried the factory reset on the 3700 a couple of times but still could not log into it's administration through the 192.168.1.250 address. Your suggestion to try using the IP as assigned by my main router worked! I can now review the status and settings using this method. Not sure why the 192.168.1.250 no longer works but I guess it won't matter now. Thank you very much!

I had the same issue using the latest firmware (102) for the R6700V3 although I am using another router as the AP. I reverted back one version of firmware (84) and the IP access works now. The AP now also shows up in the connected devices list on the R6700V3
