Nighthawk R6900P drops 2.4 GHz after minutes. 5GHz is stable.
I have been running this for about 5 months. The router has been stable the whole time until last week.
The 2.4 GHz network stays up for about a half hour, then dies. The devices can see it, but the signal strength is terrible and they cannot connect.
I have done the following.
- Updated to the latest FW
- Changed channels: from Auto to 4 to 10 then 8. Wifi analyser shows 8 should be the best.
- Factory reset
- power cycle
I have seen a few posts about this on various models, but looks like most of the time, the channel change fixed things. Not in this case. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Eleebob7,
Use channels 1,6 or 11.

Thanks JamesGL. I'll try it when I get home. Are the other channels known to be finicky? Wifi Analyzer shows that 1 and 6 are pretty heavily occupied in my area. I'm almost certain the issue I'm seeing is not a channel congestion issue.

Hi Eleebob7,
Any feedback on this issue? Did changing the channel work?
