Nighthawk R700/ 1 Gigabyte

I’ve had this route for about a year now. I had Comcast cable and had 1 gig but would average around 300mbs.

I recently moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and paid for fiber optic gigabyte internet. The install did everything and we ran the speed test with my router and I averaged around 260mbs. He then directly plugged into the outlet for the fiber and was getting 800mbs.

I’m still running speed test 4 hours after install and I’m still only getting like 200mbs. Even my Xbox Series X is averaging like 86mbs hardwired into the router.

I hooked up my wife’s laptop directly into the fiber optic port and the speed test showed 800mbs.

Why isn’t my router getting that speed!? I turned off the traffic meter option and still getting low speeds.

    What actual gateway is it?

Did you try a factory reset on the r7000?

Try that and during the install, don't use a backup configuration. Also, make sure to leave qos, access controls, traffic monitoring, and parental controls disabled.

Im not sure what gateway it’s on. I did a factory reset a few hours ago and I’m still getting very low speeds.

I made sure all the fluff like QOS is off yet it won’t even hit 300mbs.
