Nighthawk R7000 WAN connection instability

After updating the R7000 to the latest firmware (V1.0.06.28_1.1.83) I am experiencing flakey connectivity outside the home network on WAN. WiFi access is fine. Using WAN I am forced to do stunts like unplugging / replugging the ethernet cable to the network which works only momentarily. My Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem has never missed a beat till now. I am running several imacs (OS 10.10.5) and have read the other replies to this problem but dont see how to replicate the solutions.

Any help would be appreciated (words of one syllable)

Cheers

A reboot is not the same thing as a reset.  You need to do a reset.

  •   You should reset the router every time you change firmware.  Press in the reset button on the back of the router for at least 10 seconds until the LEDs flash.  I hold mine in for about 30 seconds for good measure.  Enter any configuration changes in manually.  Don't use a backup file.

This will probably get it up and working.

Thank You LeeH. I did do a reboot from the Router admin interface but will try from the router itself. I think I may have solved it another way by just assigning an IP to specific machines.

A reboot from admin interface is same as a pushing the reset button on back.

A reset or factory default is done from admin. back up settings....Revert to factory settings ....erase

or by pushing and holding reset until power led flashes
