Nighthawk R7000P can not download latest firmware version 1.3.3.148.
To the Community,
My latest firmware version per netgear genie is V1.3.1.64 The genie can not update to the newer version V1.3.3.148 Genie says I'm current with the V1.3.1.64. However there have been several updates since my current version per the website. I can download the new version via zip file from website. The problem is the file extraction completes the extraction up to 99% with one error. This must be causing the file not to completely extract all of the zip file. So it can not update the latest version to my router. Need help trying to get this figured out. My router is a 2019 model and my Netgear support has expired. Was wondering if a router that old with no support would mean I can no longer update to newer firmware updates. If anyone can find a solution that is simple that would be great. Also the zip file comes up with a .CHK extension which says recovered fragmented file. which I don't know what that is but it doesn't load. Please Explain it like you were talking to a six year old.(lol). I hate opening zip files. They seem to never extract. Thanks for your co-operation.

Try a different browser to download the .zip file from NG download site.
Try a different PC if you have one....
Try loading v1.3.2.124 first...
I checked the .zip file download...they unpack fine for me.

Version V1.3.3.148 extracts just fine here.
It is just three days old – it replaces R7000P-V1.3.3.142, which has gone – so you may want to see if it causes any problems before diving in.
The automated updates can take a few days to arrive after they hit the support pages.

Hi Guru.
So I should wait a few days and then try the Netgear genie to update the firmware or reload the file to my pc ? Just wondering. I would think Netgear could make updates a little easier like other software updates from other companies. Doesn't make sense to me to have to use a zip file for an update. Thanks for the info.

It does. But some people are impatient. So firmware goes up on the support pages for each device usually before the robots kick in.
I'd be surprised if others don't do the same thing. (Microsoft certainly does.) They all have to accommodate users with different levels of technical expertise.
These things eventually go out over an automated service. That upsets some people, who turn if off. So Netgear uses several channels.
There are times when someone has firmware so old that the automated process can't handle the giant leap for mankind. You are five or six versions, and three years, behind the pack.

What you do it up to you. I'm just explaining the process.
The .chk things is wrong. If you want a manual update, read the instructions in the release notes.
