Nighthawk X6 AC3200 R8000 Router- after changing isp plan, the internet light is amber

Hello!
A couple of days ago we upgraded our internet speed plan. Since that transaction, the internet light on the router is amber and we cannot connect to wifi. If we connect devices directly to the router w/ an ethernet cable, we can access the internet. What we have done:
-power cycled both the router & ARRIS modem numerous times
- checked cord connections. Everything is properly connected
-Factory reset the router.
Until two days ago both wifi & wired connections worked well. After the speed plan upgrade, we cannot access wifi. My isp said the signal to the modem is strong & since the router is not their equipment, they cannot help me w/ the issue.
Any help, fixes, suggestions would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

  • A firmware default reset also resets the Wi-Fi SSID and password.

Are you using the firmware default Wi-Fi SSID and password?  They are on the label on your router.

If yes, you have to manage the connection on the device you are using to connect, forget the connection, and select the SSID and enter the password fresh.

When you power cycle your devices, a sequential power up is often needed to re-establish the connections.

At your modem, power it down, disconnect the power cord, coax, and Ethernet cable.  Let is set.

Go to your router, power it down, disconnect the power cord, and all Ethernet/USB devices.

Back to your modem, connect the coax, power cord, and power up the device.  Give it plenty of time to boot and stabilize before connecting the Ethernet cable.

Connect the power cord and Ethernet cable to your router and power it up.  Give it plenty of time to boot and stabilize.

Yes, we used the ssid & password on the label. We got a pop-up saying "connection without internet."
