Nighthawk x6 Not Hard Resetting
I recently acquired a used Nighthawk x6 as a lot sale. I’m unable to contact the previous owners to ask for the password on the SSID. I figured I’d just be able to hard reset it an be good to go.
However, upon multiple attempts to hard reset (holding reset 7sec + until lights flash) even in different conditions (isp Ethernet plugged in/out, while turned off/on, different power sources) the box will NOT reset to default SSID and password. Previous existing SSID is still broadcast and still password protected.
Can anyone make a recommendation for getting access to the router and resetting the security?

Perhaps you now know how it got there.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for
"Factory" or "reset"?Normally, the documented procedure (with no data cables connected)
will work. A Web search for terms like:netgear 30-30-30 reset
should find instructions for a supposedly more drastic/effective method.
When all the Reset possibilities fail, you might try the TFTP
recovery scheme. See, for example:https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1622096#M102004

Use a wired connection, where the wireless-network passphrase makes
no nevermind?

The 30-30-30 method worked great for me. Thanks.
