Nighthawk X6 R7850 problems with pc but not mac
I have a Nighthawk X6 R7850. I have both PC's and Mac's using this router both wired and wireless. The pc's have continual issues of the signal dropping and being inconsistent. I never have this problem with the Mac's. I have searched everywhere for answers and have tried every type of reset to the pc's and the network that is possible. I have tried both pc's with other routers and they work perfectly. So it is something with this Nighthawk X6 R7850 router and the pc's that is the issue.
I'm about ready to pitch the router and get a Linksys. Does anyone have an idea???

1. what modem/gateway is the router connected to?
2. what firmware is on the router?
3. the pc's that are having issues, are they hardwired in or wireless? if wireless, what wireless card do they have?
4. are you using smart connect? (try with it disabled and connecting the troublesome devices to the 5ghz)

Thanks for replying!
1. what modem/gateway is the router connected to? Arris Surfboard SB6190
2. what firmware is on the router? v1.0.5.76_10.1.82
3. the pc's that are having issues, are they hardwired in or wireless? if wireless, what wireless card do they have? I have one that is wired and one that is wireless and both are having the same problem. I have tried both connected to other networks and have no issues with either pc that is why I think it is a specific issue with this router.
4. are you using smart connect? (try with it disabled and connecting the troublesome devices to the 5ghz) No I have turned off smart connect.

I guess i'm just trying to get more info on what "signals dropping and inconsistent" when you're talking about a wired connection.
What actually happens?
What symptoms do you get?
What fixes it (temporarily)?
How are you testing it?

When I try to pull up webpages they don't always load. Sometimes they do, other times I have to refresh the page 3-4x before they load. Or if I am trying to upload a video to S3 it will work, and then the next time I have to try twice before it will upload.
I have a mac on my desk connected into the same network and it does not have any of these issues.
I have tried removing the pc's from the connection to the Netgear router and connecting it to a wifi hotspot and I do not have the same issues. So it appears to be an issue with the connection to the Netgear router.
I have cleared network settings and reset from windows and from the windows terminal. It will help for maybe 30 minutes and then the gremlins come back again.
Both my pc laptop and desktop are running Windows 11.

Enable IPv6 on the router and once its setup, reboot it.
You might need to disconnect or reboot the computer as well.
