Nighthawk X6 R8000 Drop Wired Connection

I have been struggling consistently with my wired connection dropping for a few seconds 5-10 times a day. I am using a wired connection, going through a network switch, cables are all CAT6. My router's firmware is V1.0.3.4_1.1.2. No other person is my household is struggling with the same thing, so it is isolated to this router, or my PC. We've had this router for around 2-3 years, and I've been having these problems for the past 6 months. Sometimes it'll work for months at a time, and then get really bad for a couple weeks, but it has been disconnecting me almost every day for the past 3-4 weeks. Let me know if any more info is needed.

I updated the firmware and everything and I am still having the same problem. Another member of my family is having the same problem so it may be my gateway which is an xFi gateway (TG3482G).

Looks like a modem/router. (Gateway usually means that, often with phone support thrown in, but some people are very loose in their descriptions.)

plemans asked about that because this is a constant cause of problems.

Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.

This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Unless you have specific reasons for using two routers – to create two separate networks for example – it is often easier to use just one router and then to set up the second router as a wifi access point. Netgear advises this, as does just about every site you will visit.

It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router.

Sometimes it is easier to put the second router into AP mode. But that has its own drawbacks:
