nighthawk x6 r8000 starts dropping clients after a month

My nighthawk router rund fin for about a month (aprox) then starts dropping/disconnecting clients wireless and wired until no connections exist. It may be disconnecting the IP, not sure becouse once it starts it drops everything within 1 day and I cannot access it at all to see what happened until I reboot it. After that it is fine again for about a month or so. I cannot log in from a wired machine on a fixed IP, not with the smartphone App, nothing. I have tried to reconnect the wired PC and other devices, but no connection exists. rebooting the PC did nothing. Only power cycling the router or resetting it works. Currently at firmware version V1.0.4.76_10.1.82. I updated to this version to see if it would fix the issue but no change.

After the firmware upgrade, did you try a factory reset and reinstall? Sometimes old settings can cause issues.

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?

I used the reset button and rebooted, but did not have to reconfig the router. If I reset to factory wont I loose all the configurations, device naming, fix IP's and priority that I set up? If I have to do this each time it updates the firmware then I might as well trash it now and get another router because that is an unacceptable effort every time new firmware loads.

I've never 'needed' to factory reset after an update. But if you're having issues, its one of the first things we try because old settings can sometimes cause issues. And if you're router was on a really old version (pre-Armor), that potentially could cause it.
