Nighthawk X6S model R7960P with 5g issues
Having trouble with the Nighthawk X6S router model R7960P. Had for a year and no issues. Now only get 2.4 network and not 5.0. Lights are all on the router. I did a factory reset today, but no change. Anyone else have other ideas for me to try?

Can you explain what that troubles is?
What do you mean by "only get 2.4 network"?
No broadcast of the SSID for 5 GHz? All WiFi clients?
Then the usual boilerplate questions to eliminate some of the more common issues that crop up here.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". There may be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware with an app or in the browser interface.
If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that connects this router to the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

The R7960P has smart connect that combines the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz so it only appears as a single ssid. Are you using that?

That was my first thought, but the manual doesn't mention smart connect. I checked. But it was certainly a feature of that generation of hardware.Maybe something added in a firmware update that didn't make it into the manual. Surprise surprise.
It is in the Data Sheet. Bonkers.
