Nighthawk x6s R7900P router failure to update GUI language file
Hello, I am unable to update my firmware from 1.4.1.42 because I get a message "FAILED TO UPDATE GUI LANGUAGE FILE".
I have a Nighthawk router R7900P. Please HELP
Plemans,
Thank you sooooo much for your assistance. I was able to update my router to the latest version, thanks to your kind assistance.
Yesterday was my 59th wedding anniversity and you provided the " second best gift " :-) .
Thanks again,
Frank Craig

Are you trying to update manually? Using an app?
how are you going about this?
Did you ensure you extracted the file if you downloaded it? (on windows, right click, extract all...)
What firmware version are you trying to load?
I'd highly recommend updating firmware over a hardwired connection for best results.

I have an HP Envy 17”laptop with windows and office pro which is connected to an local area network via wifi to the Nighthawk 7900P router. I attempted to update the firmware “manually” I guess (not sure what "Manually" means). I go to www.routerlogin.net, and on the “Home screen” I click on “ A router firmware upgrade is available.” Bar at top center. Then on the “Firmware Update Assistant” I click “Yes”. Then it says “ Failure to update GUI language file”
My current GUI Language Version is 1.4.1.42_2.1.46.1
My current Firmware Version is: 1.4.1.42

Manually means you download the actual firmware file, extract it, and then log into the router and manually update it.
fairly easy to do. Instead of letting the router search, in the same section of the router you click on browser and upload the firmware to it.
