No Ethernet Output

Using ethernet, when I route my modem directly to my computer all is well.  When I route my modem to my Netgear router, then to my computer it works 95% of the time but I frequently get "Your internet connection is unstable" messages on my screen.  I lose my internet signal from my router to my ethernet connected devices throughout my home frequently and go through the reset process several times after which it eventually works.  Right now I have verified I have internet input to my router, all of the appropriate LEDs are lit but there is no output to the devices connected to my router.  I can't check the firmware, etc of the router since I cannot be on line including the router since it is not working.  The router is 5 months old.

The only positive outcome of my having the misfortune of dealing with you yesterday and today regarding my router problems is that I am now assured that someone, you, must be having a worse time with life right now than I am.  I have never corresponded with someone that presents themselves as wanting to help others that have less knowledge in a given area who was more arrogant, self-gratifying and pompous than yourself.  If I knew how to properly articulate my problems to your satisfaction then I probably would not need you which on retrospect would have been preferable.  If you are part of a "community" I was in, I would move.  While you might know a great deal about routers, networking and the like, you are woefully lacking in any type of people skills.  I wish you the best and can only imagine how you must justify everything that happens to you as being caused by the shortcomings of others.  Have a nice life. :)

Does your (unspecified) "my modem" have a maker and model number?

General advice: When dealing with a router, "route" is a technical
    term, not synonymous with "connect".

Which LEDs are the "appropriate" ones?  Color?  Activity?

First, you don't need an Internet connection to talk to your own
router.  Second, what happened to "it works 95% of the time"?  How long
would you need to get a firmware version, even if it did require an
    Internet connection, which it doesn't?

How about a model number?  Look for "Model" on the product label.  Or
do you believe that you need an Internet connection for that, too?

You can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:

Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)

They are there for a good reason.

My appologies to everyone who did not find the brand and model of the router.  Before allowing me to post, it asked for the model which I entered.  I made the mistake of assuming that the information would be included with my post.  I have entered it again, but in case it is once again omitted, it is a Netgear Nighhawk R7000P (AC2300) router.

I have seen that happen. You aren't the first victim of the joke software that Netgear insists in renting to run this place.

But we still don't know what the modem is.

Does the modem also do wifi? Does it have a row of Ethernet ports on the back?
