only GUI updates not firmware

Question

My router has NEVER been able to update the firmware (only a year old) or it is updating and the firmware number is just not updating. BUT the GUI is updating if I look on line. I have updated many ways..automatic, manual via app, manual wired and unwired downloading the latest firmware file. Even new full install and even while under warrantee they could not get it to work.

The router works great but always told update sucessful but the firmware number never changes so it always says I need a firmware update.

Any suggestions? Or just accept it is updating but not registering the update.

it might be good to start off with what router you have?&nbsp;What firmware version is it on?

when you try to update it, what error do you get?

Have you tried using tftp to force the update?

Thank you for your most detailed suggestion but it is way beyond my abilities.&nbsp; I did do a wired connection and downloaded the update manually and then signed into netgear and uploaded the file and that also only update the GUI file.&nbsp;I get no error messages and in fact I get a message on both the direct wired connection and from the app that the update was successful!&nbsp;I guess I will have to hope it is updating but not registering the update.
