Question about the Netgear nighthawk ac2600

Hi, I have the nighthawk ac2600 R7450, my pc doesn’t have a built in motherboard so Can I use this router as a Wi-Fi extender? I have my pc in a different room so once I am done setting it up can I take it to a different room and connect it to my pc? Will that work or do I have to keep this router plugged in to my original router?

What's the model# of this router? AC2600 is a wifi speed. R#### is the model #.

If you don't see any Extender modes with in the routers web page, you can assume that this doesn't support any Extender capabilities.

AC2600 is a speed, not a model. What actual device do you have?

Some had extender mode but it was pretty rare. If its not listed in the manual, it doesn't have it.

You can always hardwire it in and use it in access point mode if its a router only device.

Doesn't look like it has a repeater/extender mode.

Again, you could hardwire it in and run it in access point mode.

If you didn't have ethernet, you could use a MoCa adapter or powerline.

another option if you don't mind possibly bricking the device is it looks like its capable of 3rd party firmware. It'd void your warranty and you'd need to use those forums for support but it'd get you some extra capabilities. maybe extender mode
