R6220 Router Mesh Compatible

I haven't been able to find anything stating this one way or another but wondering if the R6220 router is compatible with a mesh network?

Having some connection issues in my house and looking into setting up a mesh network. Trying to find out if i need to replace my router or if i would just need to purchase the nodes?

Thanks for any info/help that you can provide.

Not compatible, though you can add a MESH system to this router in AP mode and disable the R series wifi radios.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for General Router products:

Are you sure that you need Mesh?

Mesh is expensive technology and might not be necessary for many users. Simply adding a wifi extender can do the job at a lower cost.

Are you wanting a full mesh system or just wanting a little more coverage?

If you're looking at just adding some coverage, you can add a mesh extender.

If you're needing more than 1 extender, I'd recommend moving to a full mesh system but if you're only needing the one, it is a decent option?
