R6700 Security Vulnerability Firmware Update can't open

Hello. I appreciate any ideas about this. I downloaded the firmware update, but it is a CHK file. When I try to open it goes to Adobe reader, then says Adobe reader cannot open this file. Is there another type file I can get it in, or do you know what program (preferably free) I might need to open this file? Many thanks. G. Lee, Tennessee

    Connect to your router - go to update router - browse to the .chk on your desktop - update.. Done..
