R6900P can't find my own network on internet after initial set up

I followed the set up procedure, found NETGEAR51 on my list of networks, but I can't find my own network to log on to.

I've tried Netgear Support and been disconected three times ffrom whatever country they are in, and can't understand the "support person" when I do get connected....HELP!!

Not sure what you mean by you found Netgear51 but "can't find my own network to log into"

The netgear51 could be the default wireless ssid. Did you change it?

You can always hardwire in a device to the router and go through setup or changing the wireless.

You can find manuals, install guides, and firmware here:

When I was on the NETGEAR51 network I looked for my own network, ColonialC, but it wasn't listed in the list of other networks.  I then selected Other and typed in ColonialC and the password.  I received a message that ColonialC couldn't be found....?  I don't want to be on NETGEAR51, I want to be on the network I've used for years and have shared with my family.

so you can change the routers ssid (name) to match your old network.

When you replace the routers, the other device isnt' going to be broadcasting.
