R7000 Firmware update failure

R7000 - FIRMWARE WON'T UPDATE USING THE APP. ROUTERLOGIN.NET WON'T ACCEPT SERIAL NUMBER, HOW DO I EXECUTE DOWNLOADED FIRMWARE UPDATE?

  • if its asking for the serial number, you're going through the forgot password option. You might have to reset to factory defaults and log in, do your upgrade, and then re-setup the router.

have you tried logging in via the gui at the default address? usually 192.168.1.1 but you can pull up a command promt and type ipconfig and get your gateway address from there.

I can log in an bring up the GUI but it does not recognize my serial number and so I cannot advance to the next screen.
