R7000 Manually reinstall router
I've been reading a lot of the suggestions for why my R7000 Nighthawk router needs almost daily rebooting. I see and agree that it must be a firmware issue as I had a tech here 6 months ago and he told me the same thing and reset the router to factory setting. It's been a dream since then but somehow it must have updated the firmware even though auto update is turned off.
Please keep in mind I'm not all that good at technology.
My question is: How do I downgrade to the previous version (1.0.9.42 was suggested...my firmware is currently V1.0.9.88_10.2.88), factory reset, and manually re-install the router? I know I can do it if I only knew how. Can someone help? And please don't be too technical.
My second question is, if Netgear knows this is an issue why don't they do something about it so we all aren't so frustrated? UGH!
Thanks!

You can downgrade by downloading it from the support site. Then just follow the manual update process but use the older firmware.
Before downgrading though, did you try the latest 1.0.11.123 version? You could install that, do the factory reset, reinstall. It might work fine for you.
here's the manual firmware update process:

I'd be the reason netgear doesn't do anything about it is that most don't have issues. If you read the reviews (not the forums) theres tons of people that do great with it. But when they don't, they end up on here. so it makes it seem like everyone has issues.
