  • Support told me to use the routers auto update instead of the link to the file. ..until they can fix the link.   This worked.

Unfortunately the new firnware did not solve my UPnP received bits per second  counter problem.

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?

New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.

So a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have problems with new firmware. First note down the settings – screen grabs can help here.

I'll try a factory reset when I have time..  NetGear support did not instruct me to do so.

I assume a factory reset puts back the factory password?    I most certainly will give it shot.

I'm a bit suprirsed at the amount of work needed to report a bug..   Its like I have to try all kinds of tests for NetGear..but they could easily reproduce it themselves (if they wanted to)  I don't think its the hardware... ..it seems like a minor but consistent bug in the UPnP  counters...when the recieved counter gets to 4GB its stops, and UPnP bits received stays at 4GB.

I know third party firmware probably has the ability to report the current WAN port  throughput and no UPnP is needed.  I just hought I could report the bug and get it on the fix list.   (I had posted the idea in the enhancement/ideas forum that it would be nice

if it could report the current recieved/transmitted bits/sec on the WAN port.)
