R7900P X6S keeps dropping 5.0GHz connection
Brand new router R7900P X6S running the stock firmware 1.1.3.2_1.1.74 keeps dropping 5.0GHz connections.
The RED line shows 2.4 GHz, the GREEN and YELLOW are 5.0GHZ. The spike in the signal strength is due to placing my Samsung Galaxy S5 eight inches from the router. I have Smart Connect enabled with all three bands running under the same SSID and the same security options. 5GHz-1 is on channel 44, the second is on channel 153 (both have been chosen automatically).
As I see it, the 5GHz band unfortunately does not give me any advantages. See below as it was measured on my Galaxy S5. It makes it impossible to browse the internet from my phone. The phone connection is probably considered by the Smart Connect as a voice-over-the-internet and thus given a low priority.
Lower speed and connection drops - what's good in 5GHz? (scratching my head....)

Hi terraset,
Have you tried to update the firmware of the router?

No, I did not try the update firmware. Somewhere on this forum I have already expressed my opinion that the "trying" exprerience other people have had with the upgrade is not worth it. There are too many people who complain that upgrading made it even worse.
The second reason I am hesitating to upgrade is that when I run the WiFi Analyzer at my work, it showed the similar drops for 5.0GHz. I guess it is either my WiFi Analyzer showing incorrectly those drops, or the drops of 5.0GHz channel are intended. I haven't seen any graphs that would support the latter.
