R800 Bricked by firmware update
Bought this thing back in May, and this morning I decided to do the firmware update as prompted by the nighthawk app.
What happened since is the box just gave up on life, emitting no wifi signals. I also tried connecting via ethernet and it wouldn't even show on my pc.
Tried pressing the reset button for 7 seconds, and also tried a 30-30-30 reset, none of which has worked.
I'm not very techy so at this point i'm likely to just bin this router and buy one from elsewhere.
Any suggestions?

You can try recoving it with tftp or nmrpflash.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide

just make sure you enable tftp

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

and if that doesn't work, try contacting support. If you bought it in may, you should be within your warranty period. click on "mynetgear" at the top, register an account and the device. From there you can contact support.
And in the future, I never recommend updating over the app or over wireless. Its where we tend to see the most issues with corrupt firmware.
