R8000 Connection Issues
I upgraded the firmware for the router on 8/4/2023 to V1.0.4.46_10.1.84. I began having problems initiating a connection in Outlook 2016 and TeamViewer. After troubleshooting both applications, I noticed that the problem did not exist when I connected to networks at client sites. The problem at my office was resolved by rolling back the firmware to V1.0.4.46_10.1.63.
The symptom was a failure to initiate a connection reliably on the first try. Multiple connection attempts were required to connect both Outlook and TeamViewer. When using TeamViewer, the connection would drop in the middle of a session. After the roll back, the problems vanished.

You're about 8 versions of firmware behind if you have the R8000.
