R8000 NH router still dropping all Wi-Fi connections

My NG NH 8000 router - I have manually updated the FW & factory reset this router & it still keeps dropping ALL wifi connections to my home devices, even devices located next to my R8000 NH router. It Is warm, it is not hot, at all….I have brought my R8000 router to a different house & experienced the exact same drops on ALL Wi-Fi connections. I have T shot this thing to death including disabling the QoS settings, etc….I’m about done…. Please just tell me if this router is BRICKED, it’s of no use to me in its current & broken state & reading the forums here THIS ISA KNOWN ISSUE!!!…DO YOU HAVE A FIX??

  • Forgot to mention I’m running FW V1.0.4.84 on my R8000 router.
Is there a newer FE version available that fixes the issue of this router dropping all Wi-Fi connections?

How long have you had the router?

Do the WiFI LEDs change color at all when this happens?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many

Try going back to last working FW version?

Be sure for Apple and Android devices, disable any MAC ADDRESS randomizer features while at home:

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Possible that the router is failing and needs to be replaced. v.84 is current and would not be a FW issue. Others haven't reported this and I didn't see this with my R8000 when I had it online last year.

One option you could do is disable the wifi radios, and use the wired portion of the router. Install a 2ndary external WiFi AP and use this for the wifi system with the router portion of the R8000. Just if you wanted to keep the R8000 going.

Thx for your reply. I work in IT (cisco) & I have jumped through those hoops you suggested. This thing is trash!!! I’m going to go Office Space on it & NEVER BUY ANOTHER NETGEAR PRODUCT AGAIN!….Anyway, thx again & have a great weekend!
