R8000 Nighthawk X6 won't turn on

Question

I had some problems with my router, mainly that the Internet was kicking out. This happens frustratingly every so often. About an hour later, I notice it hasn't come back on like it usually does. I turn it off to try and reboot it, but upon pressing the power button a second time the system won't turn on. No lights, nothing. I've made sure the LED switch is set to on, and have tried waiting 30 seconds before turning it back on.

Try a different power supply with same volts and amps. If it still fails, router needs to be replaced.

It's routed through an Xfinity product of some kind, so I don't know where the power source is

There is a power adapter brick that plugs into the wall out let for the power.

It shouldn't be far. The power cord is only like 6ft. Should be pretty easy to trace back to the outlet&nbsp;

Look at the bit of wire that goes from the "DC" socket:

It is plugged into the mains somewhere.

You need to check that the adapter isn't bust.
&nbsp;
You just need to find something that has the right specifications (volts and amps) are pretty standard, and that fits into the socket. If there's an old Netgear device lying around, that might do the trick.
