R8000P limiting wired connections
I've had my R8000P for well over one year without any issues. A couple of days ago it started limioting the number of wired connections I can have to 3 or 4. I have a TV, Computer, a wireless extension, and a netgear switch directly wired to the RP8000. For the switch I have a TV, DVD, and TiVo box. None of the wired devices has changed. If I unplug a connection one of the other ones will become active so on a 1:1 basis all connections work. BUt for some reason now the router is limiting the number of wored connections. Any help or suggestions???

Limiting the wired connections?
A bit more info helps.
1. Firmware on the router?
2. what modem/gateway is it connected to/
3. what error are you getting? What is actually happening? details help
4 if you're plugging in more than 4x devices, are you using a switch? If so, which one?

Router firmware V1.4.1.68_1.3.28
I am trying to plug in TV, Computer, Wireless Extender directly (3 ports of 4). The 4th port goes to a NetgearGS605 v4 switch. On that switch is a TV, DVD player, TiVo Box. Now depending on how a plug them in I can get 4 sometimes 5 to show up, but never all 6. So what happens is it seems like the 4 ports on the Nighthawk only allow me 3 connections. If it connects to the Netgear switch then all 3 of those devices show. I never get a partial on the switch (its 3 or 0). I have moved the connections around on the router ports, as well as trhe sequence. It is always the last device.that doesn't connect. Plugging the last device in does not kick off an already connected device.

You should be able to plug plenty of devices into it if you're using a switch. I've used over 20 on varies routers without issues.
Have you tried a simple factory reset and reinstall on the r8000P?
If you have another switch and you go router----switch(with devices)-----switch(rest of devices) and only have the switch hardwired into the router, does it work? Just trying to figure out if there's a bad port on the router/switch
