R8300 - Support for MD5 Certificates with Built-In VPN
OpenVPN has announced that they will be ending support for MD5 certificates in April of 2018. If that means that I will not be able to use the VPN feature of my router, I am wondering if there will be a firmware update that will replace this outdated security method.
Hi AlbertShym,
I am sorry for the confusion. What I meant was the NETGEAR will be supporting the new certificate that OpenVPN uses before it stops supporting the MD5 certificate.

Hi AlbertShym,
NETGEAR will support MD5 certificates for OpenVPN. It will be release before April of 2018.
- But since NETGEAR's VPN solution uses MD5 certificates, will NETGEAR update the VPN solution to use more secure certificates?
