- Apr 04, 2018Could be different for retail channel purposes like for example vendors will have slightly different model extensions so that they can avoid price matching but underlying hardware would be the same. Kinda like Roku models 4660R and 4660X are both the Roku Ultra but the letters designate different retail channels.

The bit that matters is R8500.
