I have an older (4 years old) Nighthawk AC 1750 that has worked well until I added some hardware to the system in June. Since then I have had certain devices drop off the system and forcing a reboot. Happens at least twice a week maybe more. The only thing I added was a Google Nest router and one Nest access point. The router is plugged into the back of the 1750 and it drives the two Google outside cameras as well as a couple of other devices. I am thinking that the 1750, for some reason, is having trouble with all the things that are now requiring its service. By my count I have 4 Echo Devices, 3 Smart plugs, 2 phones and 2 I pads, one laptop and one desktop computer that could need access to the router at any given time. Also add in the Google router and a/p. I need a suggestion as to what Netgear router would be a good upgrade for my unit? I have both the AX5400 (RAX50) and the AX6000 (RAX120) in my "Save for later" list on Amazon, but don't know if either one will work for me. I am just getting tired of having to reboot at odd times. BTW after the reboot, everything works fine for a while. Any help would be appreciated. - Mark StanfordSolved4.4KViews0likes5CommentsNighthawk X8 AC5000 replacement
I currently have a Netgear Nighthawk X8 AC5000 running in Bridge Mode. The unit is starting to fail and I would like to purchase a replacement. Other than searching through the spec sheets of every router, is there a list of available models that are capable of running in Bridge Mode? I emailed Sales, but have yet to receive any response.2.1KViews0likes14CommentsROUTER END OF LIFE
Is there a way to find out what the "End of Life" date will be at the time of purchasing a new router? I don't want to end up in the same boat I am currently in since my Nighthawk R9000 is no longing getting both NetGear Firmware updates or Plex Firmware Updates, the latter making Plex unusable.5.6KViews1like2CommentsLooking for a router that I can switch off the wireless wifi
Hello! Im looking for a router, ideally a modem and router combo, where I can leave a few things plugged into the Ethernet ports - like a couple computers etc. which would give them internet 24/7. While also being able to ‘flip a switch’ turning off the wireless Wi-Fi waves the device is emitting. But without just unplugging the router and shutting off the internet entirely. Hello All I currently use a Nighthawk R7000 router and am looking to upgrade to a more recent version of the nighthawk series but I am unable to find wether or not the newer netgear routers can be loaded with an older router .cfg backup file. Anyone done this & is it possible? Alternatively, can the new router "grab" the old router settings somehow? Putting a connected device in 'blocked' mode by using access control still allows for secret data to be exfiltrated out of the device and onto the WAN by using UDP protocol. Apparently the "blocked" status only applies to TCP.691Views0likes1CommentMy 8 year old Nighthawk just died - pls recommend a replacement
It’s served me well and despite having Ubiquiti access points dotted around the house, I’m happy to get a Netgear router again. Note, I dont need a modem because my ISP (Plusnet in the UK) supplied me one. Family home, lots of devices. Fibre broadband with 70mb down, 20meg up (hopefully 1gigabit in a year) Connected to a gigabit switch with Cat 6 cable Im out of touch with Netgear products and dont really know what WIFI6 is so buying recommendations appreciated.
