915 TopicsSelective VPN for specific devices?
Hi all. Asus router have a feature called VPN Fusion. It allows set up of multiple VPN networks and the ability to select specific devices on the network that use the VPN. Does Netgear have a similar feature on their routers? And if so, which specific models (preferably from the mesh network range) actually have this feature? I need to set up my VPN service on the router and only have 3 devices on my network use it.707Views0likes1CommentEAX20 intermittent?
I have a Nighthawk R7800 on the lower level of my home. A few years ago I added a Meross WiFi device for my garage door. Because of an apparent weak signal, I later added an EAX20. All was well until the past week when my video doorbell started going offline (it’s about 15’ from the EAX20). After much messing around, the doorbell somehow got connected to the router instead and all is well again. The EAX20 clients are mostly IP cameras and have never gone offline. Is the a means to select which AP a device connects to?716Views0likes1CommentHaving connection issues with my Nighthawk XR1000
I've been having issues with connecting to my Nighthawk XR1000, and I was wondering if there is a device limit to the number of devices that can connect to his router? My nighthawk has two wifi signals, one for the regular wifi channel and one for 5G, and I've been having difficulty connecting to one or the other signals. I had a new room mate move in recently who has added a number of new devices to our wifi, and I'm wondering if that's overloading the router?504Views0likes2CommentsMR60
I'm looking at buying the MK83 mesh wifi for my home, I currently have the MR60. I was wondering if I keep just the satellite from the MR60 will it work with the MK83? If it will work, does it automatically sync or do I have to manually add it and what does that include? Yes I have a need for 3 satellites and 1 base. I'm trying to get signal to parts of my house that are faraday caged so to speak and moving the metal isn't an option.Router web software to manage individual devices.
Hello, I am looking for a router that would have the ability using either a browser or mobile app, that would allow me to restart the wi-fi on an individual device. Right now, the router I am using I have to turn off wi-fi for all devices in order to restart the wi-fi on 2 cameras that have issues (long story). So I would like to just be able to select the device that would "appear not online" and restart the wi-fi, avoiding having to do this for the entire wi-fi system. Right now doing that with these 2 cameras fixes the issue. i can only control the priority of internet on these cameras, but i want to control the wi-fi connection to it. Does any router in the Netgear (home) space allow this to happen?1KViews0likes3CommentsProduct recommendation for an RV AP with Wi-Fi backhaul.
Hello, I am looking for an AP for my RV that would allow for Wi-Fi backhaul to another local AP. It needs to have an external antenna connector or a removable 2.4 or 2.4/5 antenna. I am thinking that a range extender could work but I would prefer to have my own SSID. A Mesh system would only work if the far AP was the same product. Do most AP's allow for non wired backhaul? Possibly one solution would be a range extender to the far AP along with a local AP using the extender's link as backhaul. ?Do I need to upgrade my AC1750 (R6700)? Having to reboot often.
I have an older (4 years old) Nighthawk AC 1750 that has worked well until I added some hardware to the system in June. Since then I have had certain devices drop off the system and forcing a reboot. Happens at least twice a week maybe more. The only thing I added was a Google Nest router and one Nest access point. The router is plugged into the back of the 1750 and it drives the two Google outside cameras as well as a couple of other devices. I am thinking that the 1750, for some reason, is having trouble with all the things that are now requiring its service. By my count I have 4 Echo Devices, 3 Smart plugs, 2 phones and 2 I pads, one laptop and one desktop computer that could need access to the router at any given time. Also add in the Google router and a/p. I need a suggestion as to what Netgear router would be a good upgrade for my unit? I have both the AX5400 (RAX50) and the AX6000 (RAX120) in my "Save for later" list on Amazon, but don't know if either one will work for me. I am just getting tired of having to reboot at odd times. BTW after the reboot, everything works fine for a while. Any help would be appreciated. - Mark StanfordSolved4.9KViews0likes5CommentsR6700AX
I have a R6700AX router on the second floor of my home. I am building an office in the basement of my home. We do have Wi Fi from the router in the basement but it is spotty at best. I have a chase from the basement to the area that the router is in. I can run ethernet from point to point. Is there a good product that I can wire to the R6700AX I have now that would give me a seamless WI Fi in both areas ?
