R9000 wifi6 not working

Hi Guys

I bought one router R9000 at ebay in order to upgrade my home network to use wifi 6 and 10 gb.

The issue is from the router i dont see the wifi signal of 60 gh. I bought an intel ax200 card and installet it on my personal laptop and nothing.

I tried different things like upgrade the firmware to V1.0.5.24 and made a hardware reset too. but the issue still.

I'm not able to access the 60gh band at any point.

Is there anything else i can do?

Regards.

  • Hi Guru

Thanks for your response on this. Yes it as a great router one of the best i've used.

That provided the solution to my issue.

I made a missunderstood of the standards AD to AX you're right.

Thanks a lot for your kindly response and support.

    1. The R9000 isn't a wifi 6 (ax) router.

    2. The R9000 has a AD radio. wireless AD isn't wifi 6 either. It was kind of a dropped standard with very few routers supporting it and even less devices. It went away because wifi 6 had much better range while having comparable throughputs (speeds).

Basically you made a mistake and misunderstood wifi standards.  It happens. It doesn't mean the R9000 isn't a good router. it is. But the AD radio in it is pointless for most people.
