And that's the reason. The access point itself sees a wireless
connection, but the router sees only the wired connection (from the
access point).
When a wireless device connects to the router's built-in access
point, the router knows that it's a wireless connection; everything else
is a wired connection (so far as the router knows).

"gigabit" switch, but what, exactly, does "extender" mean to you?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for "Use the Router as a
Wireless Access Point".

I'd expect better results (less interference) if nearby access points
used different radio channels.

Still true.- ChandansatpolaOct 22, 2018Aspirant
I have 1 main router and 11 ( access point router) same model.
i used same config for all routers....i.e same ssid, password, and same channel also.
but the problem is my 2.4 ghz signal are weak...signal can't break 2 walls..signal goes to zero.
channel for 2.4 ghz is Auto
channel for 5ghz (1st band ) 36
channel for 5ghz (1st band ) 149
channels are for all 12 routers
any suggestion..
