Searching for Fiber Modem/Router

Hello Community,

I am moving toa new home and getting CentruyLink Fiber Internet. I am trying to look for a modem/router combo so I don't have to use my ISP's. Having trouble finding the right product if anyone can help.

I would like a WiFi 6 router/modem combo. I purchased this, but not sure if it's the right one I need

https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/modem-routers/cax80

Can anyone confirm if this is compatible with Fiber Internet?

And they give you what, exactly, to which to connect your stuff?
    Some ONT, or what?

What led you to believe that some kind of modem is needed?

I'd start at the CenturyLink end, and find out what they require.
CenturyLink and other CenturyLink fiber users might have more/better
information than you'll find here.  (Especially if you ask about
    modems.)

    its not.

Netgear doesn't have any fibre modems.

The CAX80 is a cable modem and won't work.

but you can probably check with centurylink on just getting an ONT that you can connect your own router to.

Or if they do send you a gateway with integrated router, usually you can disable th router portion so you can use your own.

And the advantage of this is that you have separate router, which gives you a much larger choice of routers.  Modem/router combos limit your options.
